What a whirlwind! It’s hard to believe that just a few weeks ago, on Friday, December 12th, we officially pulled the first pizzas out of the oven and opened our doors to the St. Anthony community.
As we close out our first month and look toward a massive 2026, we wanted to take a moment to share the journey so far, thank our early supporters, and give you a glimpse of what’s coming next to the banks of the Snake River.
Roots, Recipes, and “The Secret Sauce”
Soul Fly Pizza didn’t just appear out of thin air. It started with a vision from our founders, Josh and Jen Swain. Josh is no stranger to the fast-paced world of professional kitchens, having spent years mastering the art of high-end steaks and the morning rush of breakfast service. But Soul Fly is something closer to the heart.

The foundation of every pizza we serve is Grandma Soul’s heritage recipe. It’s a slow-fermented, hand-stretched dough that we mix daily. We believe in “Fast-Crafted” dining—getting you a high-quality, artisan meal quickly, without ever sacrificing the integrity of the ingredients.
The “Spinning Plates” Era
If you’ve stopped by and seen us in action, you might have noticed a lot of moving parts. Opening a restaurant during the holidays is a feat in itself; doing it while juggling family life is a whole different ballgame! Josh and Jen have been busy “spinning plates”—balancing the demands of a new business with the joys (and chaos) of raising their kids.
Speaking of the kids, they’ve officially taken on the most important role in the company: Lead Pizza Testers. If a new topping combination doesn’t pass their rigorous taste test, it doesn’t make the menu!
Our New Digital Home
We are thrilled to share the Soul Fly Pizza website now live! Right now, you can use it to browse our current menu and stay up to date with our latest news. But we’re just getting started. Very soon, we’ll be launching Online Ordering, making it easier than ever to grab a hot pie on your way home or down to the river. The website will be your central hub for everything Soul Fly—from seasonal specials to community events.

What’s on the Horizon?
Southeast Idaho, we’re just getting warmed up. Here’s what you can look forward to:
- We’re Hiring! As we grow, we’re looking for energetic, pizza-loving people to join the Soul Fly crew. If you want to work in a fast-paced, family-oriented environment, apply out via our Application page or drop by the shop.
- Paddleboard Rentals (Spring 2026): Our goal is to make Soul Fly more than just a restaurant—we want it to be a destination. We are planning to launch paddleboard rentals this coming spring so you can enjoy the water and a slice all in one afternoon.
- Expansion & Updates: From new menu “curveballs” to expanded outdoor seating, we have big plans for our riverside location.
